Russia to start shipping 1st batch of grain to Venezuela Aug 9–10

MOSCOW, Jul 26 (PRIME) -- Russia will ship the first batch of grain to Venezuela on August 9-10, Venezuelan ambassador to Russia Carlos Rafael Faria Tortosa told PRIME on Wednesday.

“An agreement has been recently signed with two Russian companies on supplies of 600,000 tonnes of Russian grain. We want to have a reliable supplier of this important product. Shipping of the first grain batch will start on August 9 or August 10…We have specific instructions from President (Nicolas) Maduro to develop our relations,” he said.

Venezuela wants to export tropical fruits to Russia, including avocadoes, he added.
